Newton Haven is in Ten of the Best Castle Anchorages
Newton Haven on the beautiful Northumbrian coast just north of Craster. It epitomises this part of the coast: beautiful sandy beaches and a castle.

Two miles to the south is the specatular 14th century Castle, its two striking towers of the gatehouse. The anchorage is surprisgly sheltered and peaceful due to the rocks offshore that are exposed for all but 2 hours either side of HW.

The anchorage is close to the attractive 18th-century fishing village of Low Newton, with its white-washed cottages round a neat village square. There is a pub – the Ship Inn.
